Ancient Greek Sphinx from Delphi
The Sphinx was a creature from ancient Greek mythology. She had the body of a lion and head of a person. She posed a riddle to those who past by her and if they could not answer correctly, she killed them. Oidipous solved the riddle and so she threw herself off a cliff and died.
