Tethys bore 3,000 sons to Okeanos they were termed Potamoi. Each of the Potamoi was a River God. The River Gods did not appear like Olympians, some like Akheloios had horns or were shapeshifters. Most of the Potaoi who were married, were so to Okeanides (their sisters).
